When Should You Get Your Logo Re-Designed? 1

You have a logo, you have your brand, but something doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe a redesign could be something that can help your business?

It’s important to remember that the second clients see your logo, they’ll start making assumptions about your business. Because of this you need to make sure that the logo and the business/brand give your potential clients the right associations.

Getting your logo redesigned can have both positive and negative effects, so you will need to analyze the situation well in order to get an overview of the expected effects and extra costs this will give.

Remember that a re-design doesn’t have to mean changing everything about the logo as you can keep certain elements or the colors and fonts if that seems to be the best solution.

Let’s have a closer look at some of the more common situations in which a re-design could be a smart solution:

The design feels old and outdated

If you’ve been in business for a while, this can many times be the case. Unless you have a very strong and timeless design, there’s a good chance it’s starting to feel a bit old after a few years. The good thing is that you can many times make an existing design feel more modern without too many changes.

It sends out the wrong message

Sometimes the true effects of a logo will not be seen properly before it has been in use for a while. If you discover that it sends out the wrong message, you definitely need to do something about it. Maybe clients confuse your logo with another one or maybe it in one way or another just looks wrong.

It looks cheap

No one wants a logo that looks like a cheap and quick design. Many times companies do the mistake of underestimating the value of a good logo and go for quick and cheap solutions. This could be a logo that is made by a non-professional, or a result of not spending enough money and time during the process. The quicker you can get it redesigned, the better it will be for you.

You’ve changed what you offer

From time to time business do changes in what they do and sell. If your logo has a very clear message of you offering specific products, you should change it to fit better in with what’s new.

You want to reach a different market

This one can sometimes be a bit tricky to see at first, but keep the option in mind. If you’re trying to reach out to a different market from what you’ve done in the past, you should consider a redesign. This is because of the simple fact that different groups of people tend to like different elements, colors and so on. If you’re not sure, consult a professional designer to get some help in analyzing this. It could eventually make a huge difference.

The company is expanding

Often companies do a redesign of the logo and maybe a whole re-branding process if they’re expanding. This can help the company stand out with a new and refreshed profile and this way give new clients and more loyalty towards the business.

Conclusion

There are many things that will come into play when considering if you’re going to redesign your logo or not. If any of the above are the case, you should definitely go for it. If you’re a bit unsure, consulting a designer/design company first is an option. 1. High Interest Savings Account says:

I don't think there's anything wrong with re-designing a logo. Sometimes things change and the logo's gotta change with it. Keeping up w/ the times. Consumers and clients understand that companies and brands must update their look just as they would update their products. It's all a part of a growing company.
